The Army is full of once in a life time experience's. This could be things like going to a war in rural or and war Torn countries to help people live their everyday lives. Some of the reasons i picked this as my passion is because its stands out to me more than any other job that i know about because i like to be active and the challenges both physical and mental.
In all i believe that to join the Army would be an awesome experience. I think that leaving everything behind for a year(s) would be hard but worth it in the end because of the new friendship's you would make with new people and knowing that you accomplished something difficult would be a huge self esteem boost.
